Zenkei Zen Sangha and Q Sangha
Reverend Jana is the teacher for two sanghas....Zenkei Sangha, named for her teacher and the historic Q Sangha a queer meditation community.
(Zen Kei = Inconceivable Joy Sangha = community)
Gengetsu Junsei, received Dharma Transmission in the Soto Zen Buddhist Lineage from Zenkei Blanche Hartman - the first woman in this lineage - in whose honor the sangha is named. Suzuki Roshi brought this form of Soto Zen Buddhism to America in the late 50s and there are now centers and groups nationwide and beyond. Many have found this simple way of Zen to be profoundly heart healing and to be a helpful guide to daily living.
Junsei Jana Drakka is a Zen Teacher offering the full spectrum of training to anyone interested in the way at various locations around San Francisco in what has become popularly known as 'the zendo without walls'. Practice Discussion - personal consultation about meditation practice - retreats and talks and Interfaith or Buddhist ceremonies of all kinds including weddings and memorials - are all offered here.
There are many regular opportunities weekly to sit with Rev. Drakka…you’ll find them on the schedule page….from formal sittings at Zen Centers to informal meditation in gardens and community rooms.
Jana lives through her teacher’s teaching….”Just this is it”. Being Zenkei’s disciple, Jana’s teaching is “This”. Dharma talks and classes on the Teachings of Zen Buddhism can be found on the schedule and can be arranged at your request.
If you become peaceful accept it.
If you don’t become peaceful accept that also.
